Purely natural traditional Chinese medicine Xuezhikang capsules are manufactured by fermentation using Specially made Red yeast rice as the raw material. During fermentation, Specially made Red yeast rice produces not only lipid-lowering natural statins, but other beneficial ingredients for human body, such as multiple unsaturated fatty acid, amino acids, trace elements, thus keeping the characteristics of multiple ingredients and integral function of traditional Chinese medicine and having excellent effects of promoting blood flow and eliminating the stagnant and swift, effective, and integral adjustment of abnormal blood lipids.

As a prescription drug approved by the Ministry of Health of China(Med-drug Permit No. Z20080068), Xuezhikang has been listed in the National Catalog of Basic Drugs and the National Medical Insurance Coverage.


At present WPU holds the patent right of Specially made Red yeast rice in China (Patent number ZL 97 116744.3), the United States (Patent number 6,046,022), Singapore (Patent number 72467), and Hong Kong (Patent number HK1017614) and the Certificate of Chinese Propriety Medicine issued by the Department of Health of Singapore.


Since being one sale in China from 1996, Specially made Red yeast rice and Xuezhikang have been intensively researched clinically and the number of related papers has exceeded400. The journals that have published Specially made Red yeast rice-related papers include Nutrition Research (1998;Vol.18, No.1 71-81), Current Therapeutic Research (Vol.58, No.12, December 1997). The journals that have published Xuezhikang-related papers include such world renowned journals as Circulation (August 24,2004) and Clinical Chemistry (49:8 13451352 2003) and American Journal of Cardiology (June 15 2008).
